We are glad to inform you that we organize the second edition of our international symposium entitled The Archaeology of Death in Ancient Times: Life Beyond Life?, within the project The Social-Humanistic Sciences in the Context of the Globalized Evolution: the Development and the Implementation of the Post-Doctoral Studies and Research Program, POSDRU –89/1.5/S/61104, Human communities and their material and spiritual creation in the Prehistory and Protohistory of the space between the Carpathians and Dniester, at the “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia (Romania) from the 23rd to the 26th of September, 2012.
This scientific meeting will regroup archaeologists and anthropologists around the thematic of funerary anthropology in prehistory, protohistory and antiquity. We would like to explore the meanings and use of artifacts found in graves from various perspectives: technological, typological, and especially ideological. The interdisciplinary approach will provide the opportunity to exchange viewpoints, experiences and results concerning the proposed thematic.

Papers, abstracts and posters may be presented in French or English. The publication of the proceedings of this international symposium has already been arranged.
The cost for accommodation and meals is approximately 200 Ron for three nights.
